My adult art classes use a method which master artists have use for hundreds of years - copying other works of art. My students will draw images of Impressionist and Fauvist artists’ works that have simple, uplifting elements and bold colors. I take the students step by step to layout, draw and colorized each piece. The results are nothing short of amazing. We will talk about the masters and how they all learned by exploring, by doing, by trial and error. Along the way we will talk about styles of art and the thinking behind them. I choose colorful, interesting images. Though these lessons are meant primarily to give you drawing experience, I am convinced some, if not, many will be worthy of framing.
